Valderrama believes allowing players of the squad to have sex is something that benefits team

In the previous edition of the World Cup, there was a high amount of squads that were prohibited from having sexual intercourse including: Mexico, Russia, Chile and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The players from the nations of Brazil and England on the other hand were allowed to do it.

Carlos Valderrama is a retired footballer who made over 100 appearances at the international stage for Colombia and represented his national side in 3 World Cups. Valderrama believes that allowing the players of the squad to have sex is something that benefits the entire team.

“If we had sex, sex at the World Cup, we would have been better. We would have relaxed after games, especially after losses. That’s total relaxation. Of course it’s better to have sex during the World Cup.”Valderrama said as he voiced his opinion concerning having sexual relations during the international competition.

Joechim Low allowed his German squad to engage in sexual intercourse and they were the nation that came out on top with the victory as Germany was crowned as the best team in the world after defeating Argentina in the finals.

The Spanish side was given permission to have sex during the 2014 World Cup and it seems like it was a bad decision as the team of Vicente del Bosque was one of the first nations to lose and be disqualified after only being able to win one match in the group stages but was defeated when facing off with Netherlands and Chile. It’s been over 10 years since the Valderrama announced his retirement but he still remains being an important figure in the world of football as the former player has now turned into a coach which is a trend that has been growing recently as more players decide to turn into managers after hanging up their boots.

Valderrama has praised Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez who is currently recovering from an injury he sustained earlier in February.

James Rodriguez was signed by Real Madrid after the Colombian player made a huge impact in the 2014 World Cup as he finished as the top goal-scorer after scoring 5 goals. For a transfer fee of €80 million, Real Madrid snatched him up but the young attacker has received criticism as he has not truly managed to live up to his astronomically high price tag however, Valderrama has been surprised by what the young player has accomplished since arriving to the Santiago Bernabeu. Colombian Football had best Season this Year

2014 is the year that perhaps no Colombian Football fan would ever forget. What a wonderful year it has proved to be for Los Cafeteros. By winning almost 75 percentage of their matches, they are, at this point of time, at their highest ever position in the FIFA World rankings i.e. no. 3.

Generally, whenever a team does well at the highest level, the manager of that team has a lot to do with it and it is no different in Colombia’s case.

For Colombia also, it’s their manager Jose Pekerman who has put his blood, sweat and tears to build the team.

And, it has been acknowledged by the people in Colombia. You talk to anyone there and they only have good things to say about Pekerman and why not?

The 65-year old Argentinean got the team prepared so well for the World Cup. He picked the right players, used them brilliantly tactics-wise and most importantly, he made his players play the positive brand of soccer.

The experts were so impressed with Colombia’s approach in Brazil.

Even when the Cafeteros were facing the strong teams, they were ready to meet fire with fire.

There was ruthlessness in Colombia’s play in the World Cup. It seemed as if they trusted themselves to get better of any team in the competition.

Yes, they were knocked out by the hosts Brazil in the Round of 8, but, the way they played till then, they won everybody’s heart.

And, the disappointment of the Colombia players after that Brazil game said a lot about that team. Some of them were crying rivers, James Rodriguez in particular.

The future of Colombian football certainly looks bright and one should not be surprised if they achieve even more success in 2015 than what they have achieved this year.

COLOMBIA CAN WIN

The coach of Colombia, Jose Pekerman has come a long way since 2006 when he was in charge of Argentina and during the quarterfinals of the 2006 World Cup his team was disqualified as they played against Germany.

Pekerman has had impressive results and campaigns with the Argentinean Youth squads that he has been in charge of as he guided the youth team to World titles in 1995, 1997, and 2001 as later went on reaching the 2006 World Cup quarterfinals with Argentina.

The 64 years old tactician has also made a number of controversial decisions and he gained a number of negative response when Javier Zanetti and Walter Samuel were both dropped from Argentina during the 2006 World Cup but Pekerman is still considered to be a very effective coach that does his job well and that is why he was picked to guide Colombia through the next World Cup.

Pekerman is optimistic about the challenges that await him in Brazil as he wants his squad to impress everyone and go far for their upcoming international matches.

“We are going to Brazil optimistic that we can have a great World Cup. We are definitely going to be a very competitive team. Colombia has improved a lot and it continues to improve, I have an excellent group and a fantastic staff, we are truly a team.” Pekerman said.

It still remains unclear whether or not Radamel Falcao will be recovered in time to participate in the 2014 World Cup but it will be a huge blow for Pekerman and Colombia if their star is unable to make it in time.

Even if Falcao is absent for the 2014 World Cup, Colombia was pitted in a relatively simple group and are expected to make it through the group stages of the grandest competition of all.
